Morning of 26th march 2011, me and my sister were ready for leaving to my uni "Jinnah University" in order to attend "MELA" there.
We were very excited to reach there as me and all my friends had a plan to attend it together. I and my sis reached there at 11 when I saw my other friends standing and waiting for me. There was a huge crowd loaded. I could see many new faces which I never saw in the university before.
We proceed roaming the venue. There were two tents under which were different stalls. We started from the right side stalls where teasing sun rays were peeking through it. Some of our class mates also arranged face painting and game stalls there. My sister and I tried each game by forgetting those rays for which we always had been careful to cover in our unit. But I lost 2 games and she won.
We continued with visiting all other stalls.. where I saw different food stalls, embroided suits, accessories, decoration pieces, cosmetics and many more..all the stuff were very good but, the most common thing in all the products was the they All were very expensive and out of the reach of any middle class student girl, who are majority studying in our University including Me. I personally loved the colorful handwork home decoration items like cushion covers and rugs etc.
The funniest moment was when I saw a yellow boutique suit, which was looking as normal as we all can wear in less formal occasion. When I asked its price, she said it’s of 6000/=. I didn't understand what should I react. I am still pretty sure that its worth could reach more than 1500.
I don't know whether I was the only person over there who did not take any big amount there or there were many more poor like me??? I just thought that the mela is at JINNAH University, not in Pearl continental hotel.
After so many struggles to see and visit each and every stall, I along with my friends took a brunch break and took a junk of our mood, but unfortunately our mood got off after eating hopeless food which we thought should had been tasty. But soon after, a huge group of girls started bhangra n dance below the stage, which became the centre of attention and made us feel enjoyable after some boring happenings before.
All in all, it was great spending time with my friends, as when there are friends; you make your place yourself. We all meet in the University daily but this was a different way as we get this opportunity after 2 years. So it was fun in "MELA"
Very nicely written..and a lovely work on pictures =)))
