The Department lecturers Miss Tooba Zaheer, Ms. Sabeen Jamil, Ms. Batool Ezam and Assistant professor Ms Humaira also attended the lecture.
The Guest Speaker,Mr Owais Mangalwala is an Anchor and Producer in Dawn News Channel.
Mr Owais arrived along with his team 30 minutes after i got into the Auditorium. He initiated the lecture with informal and interactive exchange of dialogues with students of Mass Communication.
Mr. Owais Mangalwala gave a detailed lecture on the importance and concept of Citizen Journalism that It is Journalism in real terms but on a common man's level.
On giving us the ideas of how to become a Citizen Journalist, he said, "We all go through different experiences everyday and everyone of us holds a unique solution of every problem. We appreciate people to share unique experiences from their surroundings from where, the lens of camera can not reach".
In this regards Dawn News promotes citizens and specially students of Mass communication to report the unique and unusual events in our circle and get Dawn News as a platform to express them to everyone. As we all have the right to show our thoughts and ideas, DAWN news is providing us an official platform with a name of "Citizen Journalism" where we not only can show our experiences, but also can get chance to be invited in the Show as a reward.
Mr Owais emphasized to differentiate between News and Noise while reporting and told some main points to be focused by Citizen Journalist.
Ms.Humera in the end, gave a thanksgiving lecture from the Dept of Mass Communication.
The guest lecture ended followed by the opinion poll from Dawn News on their newly started morning show, " Mast Morning with Maira".
